Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) Previously known as Periodic Inspections.

In the trade, these can also be called a landlord certificates, for in depth description see "inspection and testing" above.

There are a couple of things that can trigger an EICR for landlords (Rented accommodation)

  • Every 3 years.
  • Change of occupancy.
  • Not having an in date EICR can or may void your insurance.
  • Old wiring with reports of random faults.
  • Emergency call out any time of day or night 7 days a week (Call out charges apply).
  • Do not forget if you leave any electrical appliance in your rented accommodation it will need to be PAT tested every 12 months.
